The Two Kisses Cake

My friend Niamh's family owns a vineyard in Queenstown and has created a beautiful pinot noir called Two Sisters. As two friends, we decided to make a red wine and chocolate cake together and this is the outcome.
Melted 70% couvature chocolate to go into the cake
Creaming the butter and brown sugar
 Me adding the chocolate
Putting the cake into the oven
 Niamh and me
 Two Sisters 2007 Pinot
Having a sneaky cup of wine while baking
 The finished product
This is a very lavish cake. It's velvety, incredibly moist and my mouth is watering just writing about it. We made it a double layer cake with a layer of blackcurrant coulis in the middle to break up the sweetness, and a silky ganache to top with. The mild taste of the Pinot Noir definitely comes through with its complex dark fruit undertones. Since this cakes is full of aphrodisiacs I have decided to make it a special Valentine's day cake for next year, but if anyone would like to place an order before then, that's fine too.

Ingredients:

Butter
Brown sugar
Salt
Organic eggs
Two Sisters pinot noir
Flour
70% dark chocolate
